Welcome Letter from the Presidents

oxhkscholars 2021 presidentialwelcome

Dear Oxford Hong Kong scholars,

It is a great pleasure to extend our warmest welcome to you to Oxford and a new school year, regardless if it is your first time here or if you are returning. Oxford University Hong Kong Scholars Association (OxHKScholars) was founded with the aims to promote academic exchanges and build relationships among Hong Kong scholars. We represent the Hong Kong graduate and academic community here, while welcoming all friends in Oxford who are interested in any aspects of Hong Kong.

We are fully aware that your life in Oxford can be a stressful time, especially if it is your first time living away from home in these unprecedented times. We are launching a series of events in Michaelmas, filled with joy, friendship, wisdom, and more. We always welcome you to take a break and mingle with us. You can refer to our Term Card and our announcements for more details. You can also count on us that taking care of the wellbeing of our members, socially or professionally, has been our top priority.

We have also long been committed to promoting access and outreach of academic research and graduate studies. Before even the new school year starts, we already launched the Grad School Application Workshop with great acclaim. Besides that, we had many flagship events over past years, including the Hong Kong PhD Symposium, Oxford Academic Symposium, and Oxford Hong Kong Forum, which have attracted over a thousand of participants. More of these events will be launched in the next terms.

OxHKScholars would not be possible without you. We plead for your support by participating our events, subscribing our annual membership, and letting us hear your voice. We pledge that this Association will continue to thrive; to serve you; and to be committed to all values and causes we care. We will continue to be the bridge between Oxford and Hong Kong.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
