Internal call for speakers and abstracts is now open

We welcome members of OxHKScholars to register for an oral presentation at the OxHKScholars Academic Symposium 2020 on 9 February 2020 at Christ Church, Oxford. Only our members are eligible to be speakers, although the Symposium is open to all.

Prospective speakers should submit an abstract of their proposed talk online. The abstract should be no longer than 200 words. Non-members can also use the form to register for membership. The deadline for submission is 31 December 2019, 23:59. Submission link: http://bit.ly/2S0A362

Selection and timetabling

We endeavour to be as inclusive as possible. If we receive more abstracts than what we can schedule, the Committee will select speakers based on the diversity of programme, the originality of research and the progress of study. A higher priority will be given to first-time presenters.

Informal discussion

If you are not entirely sure what to expect from giving a talk or how to choose your topic, or if you have any general questions, you are welcomed to discuss informally with us before submitting an abstract. Please do not hesitate to email us at oxhk.scholars@studentclubs.ox.ac.uk.

Pre-Symposium speakers’ meet-up

Confirmed speakers will be invited to meet with the Committee during Week 1 of Hilary Term. We will finalise the topics and the timetable. We can also advise on how to structure and present your talk.

Presentation prizes

Prizes will be awarded for Best and Runner-up Presentation. The specifics will be announced in due course.
